Doesn't seem to be time — I tried waiting a super-long time between answers, and it didn't seem to affect my score any.
I think it may be giving more points for the ones that a lot of people get wrong. The godawful hideous fakes and the natural-and-tiny ones (which just about anyone can guess) seem to be worth fewer points than the not-so-bad fakes or the larger real ones (which are presumably fooling some people).
Then again, I'm probably putting more thought into this than it deserves.
